TUI-PS&A Statement of condolences on passing of Cde Mapitso Molai from LTTU in Lesotho




WFTU TRADE UNION INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC SERVICE & ALLIED SOLIDARITY STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF LTTU GENERAL SECRETARY COMRADE MAPITSO MOLAI

The World Federation of Trade Unions [WFTU] Trade Union International Public Services and Allied [TUI PS&A] sends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and members of our affiliate,Lesotho Teachers Trade Union (LTTU) on the passing of LTTU General Secretary, Cde.Mapitso Molai. Indeed, we wish strength to her family, friends and all members of LTTU and workers in Lesotho during this difficult time.

 

Cde.Mapitso worked tirelessly as an activist in the broader political landscape of Lesotho and in defending the rights of workers in particular.She ensured that workers in Lesotho were always connected and facilitated the working class international solidarity and unity of labour movement through the WFTU family, as she was instrumental in making sure that LTTU is admittedto the international workers body as an affiliate to the Trade Union International for Public Servants through TUI-PS&A.

 

The TUI-PS&A worked closely with Cde.Mapitso in many of its programs such as international campaigns, namely: Campaigns in Solidarity with peoples of Palestine, Cuba and Venezuela as well as our campaign for FREE VACCINE FOR ALL. The international community of workers has indeed lost a hardworking, selfless activist and unionist and her dedication and contributions we will keep in our memories and shall draw strength from her spirit in the continued struggles of workers towards the total improvement of conditions of service and better sound collective bargaining streams.

 TUI-PS&A will continue working close and support the LTTU and workers of Lesotho in honor of Cde Mapitso.
