We Condemn the repression Against the General Strike and the Arrests of Trade Unionists in S. Africa

 

The TUI PS- Europe denounce the governed repression against workers'-strikers and union leaders in South Africa.

 

 Since Monday the 6 March 2023, The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] has been on a full blown national Public Service strike in South Africa. The state has responded by viciously attacking the right to strike. The attack is ongoing and includes using courts, arrests and all sorts of threats against workers and union leaders, who fighting   against austerity measures in the public sector, a wage freeze, for better salary increment and against privatizations.

 

We call all the trade unions in Europe to denounces the governed repression against workers'-strikers and union leaders in South Africa and express its solidarity with their fair struggle.

 

TUI PS Europe
