Since the ceasefire agreement on October 10, Israel has murdered hundreds of people in the Gaza Strip. Humanitarian aid remains blocked, prolonging hunger and lack of healthcare. In the West Bank, attacks on Palestinians by settlers and the Israeli army continue, as does the expansion of settlements to further enforce the occupation of the territory by Israel.
This ceasefire agreement, by not guaranteeing an end to the occupation or the aggressions in the West Bank, does not even ensure the end of the murders of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire must be effective, real, and permanent. As has happened with previous ceasefires, Israel violates them and continues its genocidal policy with impunity, supported by the USA and with the complicity of NATO and EU allies, in the same way that it maintains occupied territories in Syria and Lebanon, where aggressions continue.
It is urgent to stop the massacre, end the occupation, and guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people, namely the right to live in peace and security in a free, independent, and sovereign Palestine, as advocated by successive UN resolutions.
Solidarity with the people of Palestine does not waver. The solidarity campaign "All for Palestine! End the Genocide! End the Occupation!" continues, culminating in the demonstrations on November 29 in Lisbon (3 p.m. - Restauradores) and Porto (3 p.m. - Praça da Batalha).
The contribution of workers and the unified trade union movement to solidarity with Palestine and the struggle to end Israel's crimes, clarifying, mobilizing, and ensuring the presence of leaders, delegates, and workers in what will be a major day of struggle for peace.
