Greeting Message of TUI PS - Europe to the Congress of Syndicat Departemental CGT des Personnels Actifs et Retraites du Departement du Vaucluse
Athens, September 22, 2021
TUI PUBLIC SERVICES EUROPE
On behalf of the class-oriented trade unions of public
sector of Europe, we wish you every success in your congress.
Today, the workers of Europe and the world are facing
both the consequences of the coronary pandemic and the escalation of the anti-labor
attack, the sharpening of capitalist oppositions and imperialist rivalries.
On the one hand we see the rich people of the planet
organizing space travels, while on the other hand more and more of our fellow
human beings cannot satisfy even their most basic needs.
Public sector employees, in particular, are
experiencing the consequences of privatizations, the degradation of public
services, which means worse and more expensive services for the people and
worse working conditions for public sector employees.
At the same time, of course, the pandemic showed that
without a public health care system, the path is the mass graves we saw in
Bergamo of Italy, in New York of USA and in Brazil. While on the other hand we
have the example of the heroic people of Cuba who despite the embargo and
exclusion from the US with its universal public health system protected its
population, sent doctors and nurses to other countries, showed the superiority
of a society without exploitation.
Today it is becoming more imperative to the workers of
the world the question which option will give strength to the working class to
respond to the anti-labor attack.
The choice of class cooperation, social peace, of waiting
and inactivity cultivated by the ETUC and PSI has been tested and has led
unions to demobilize and their transformation into bureaucratic mechanisms.
We need trade unions that will be class-oriented, massive,
militant that will defend the workers and will demand every day in the
workplaces. With the values of internationalism and class solidarity, against
imperialism, the EU, against racism and xenophobia.
These trade unions, the militant trade unionists of
Europe and the world, we meet in the lines of the World Federation of Trade
Unions and in the TUI PUBLIC SERVICES and it is a great honor and pleasure for
us to welcome your militant congress.
Long live the Syndicat Departemental CGT of Active
Personals and Retraits of the Department of Vaucluse
