ANNOUNCEMENT
Trade unions of
public sector across Europe have been on the struggle lately for low wages,
poor working conditions, social security, privatization and security measures
of public services.
Strikes and demonstrations
are a daily occurrence in almost all European countries such as France, Greece,
Germany, Sweden, Norway, England, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Cyprus,
Denmark, etc.
These
struggles show that wherever there are vibrant, militant unions, defenders of
the workers, in the front line of the struggle against capitalist exploitation
and not bureaucratic, corrupted unions, servants of the governments and the
capitalists, they can defend our right through the organized collective
assertion of the workers themselves. Especially when we live in conditions of
huge increase in the wealth produced and the profits of the business groups but
the workers and especially the younger generation are led to live worse even in
the developed economies so that the profitability of the few will be ensured. We do not accept living on crumbs, with
job insecurity.
The workers,
with their massive struggles in every country, are proving that they can overturn
the situation, they can win conquests. At the same time, the victory for
workers in one country will be a victory for workers all over Europe. That is
why it is necessary today to strengthen the joint actions and initiatives of
the militant trade unions throughout Europe against the common opponent, the
monopolies, the EU and the governments that serve them.
At a time when
the workers all over Europe are going out on the streets, at the same time
employers and governments are trying through terror and threats to prevent
workers from becoming organized and counterattack. It is now common throughout
Europe for trade unionists and trade unions to be criminalized and prosecuted
for defending the lives and rights of workers, for opposing the imperialist
slaughterhouses.
As TUI PS
Europe we express our solidarity with the struggle of the militant trade unions
of Europe. May 1st to become the starting point for new struggles of
the militant trade unions to win all our rights and have the life we deserve.
As TUI PS of
Europe we will give all our strength to build a solid contact of European trade
unions of public sector workers. We can
and must strengthen the WFTU in Europe and worldwide.
